Seniors Volunteer Initiative Interfaith Outreach

The City of Surrey is pleased to announce our new Seniors Volunteer Initiative, a pilot project funded in part by the Province of British Columbia. The goal of this new initiative is to increase meaningful volunteer opportunities for seniors in Surrey to share their skills, experience and wealth of knowledge for community well-being. We believe that seniors are already contributing to make Surrey a great place to live and are committed to increasing meaningful volunteer opportunities.

FOCUS GROUP – Interfaith focus group for seniors

This focus group is specifically for seniors who volunteer in the community. If leaders could please forward this date to their volunteers that would be a great help.

FOCUS GROUP – Faith Community Leaders who support Senior Volunteers

June 2, 2017, 10-12pm, City Centre Library – Dr. Ambedkar Room (room 418)

We will be hosting focus groups for leaders in faith communities that work with senior volunteers in Surrey. We would like to invite Faith Community coordinators or liaisons who oversees or coordinates volunteer seniors to participate in these discussions. Your input is extremely valuable to us, so we hope to see you there!

Light refreshments will be provided for both dates and please RSVP to Melissa mdemeda@surrey.ca or 604-591-4318. Also if someone isn’t able to make it we could arrange a 1:1 interview.
